Take a childbirth class. Make sure you register at the early stages of pregnancy to guarantee yourself a spot. A class that specializes in breastfeeding could also be of benefit. All classes will mentally prepare you for the weeks ahead.

Take the time necessary to write out a birthing plan. Put what you would like others to help you with on the list as well. Try packing an overnight bag which contains a camera, insurance card, birth plan, clothes, and pre-registration forms for your new baby
